Sweat proof makeup tip # 1 - Prep your skin
Before you apply your makeup, prep your skin with a primer. A makeup primer helps makeup stay in place and help to absorb excess moisture (and reduce shine) during the day. Some of these products are infused with SPF for added protection from the sun's rays. Consider using Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer To Go which is affordable and receives rave reviews from consumers.
Sweat proof makeup tip # 2 - Use a tinted moisturizer
You can keep your makeup looking fresh by replacing your regular foundation with a tinted moisturizer. A heavy foundation will clog pores and weigh heavily on the skin, causing it to sweat. A tinted moisturizer will even out your skin tone and keep it hydrated, but is lightweight and allows skin to breathe. These cosmetics are also often infused with SPF. Stila Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer receives very positive reviews from consumers and is available at an affordable price.
Sweat proof makeup tip # 3 - Choose cream eye shadow
To keep your makeup from sweating off, choose products that absorb quickly into the skin. Cream eye shadows are a great choice as they do just that, and they keep your makeup looking fresh and hydrated. Benefit Cosmetics Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner duo received some of the BEST reviews for cream eye shadow and it is available in a wide variety of beautiful colors. It's an affordable way to keep your makeup from sweating off too!
Sweat proof makeup tip # 4 - Ditch the lipstick
Keep your makeup looking fresh and new by getting rid of the heavy lipsticks and replacing the with a lightweight tinted lip gloss. In hot summer months, a lip gloss with a low-shine will keep lips looking pretty and smooth without appearing 'made up'. Some of the options for long-lasting, non-sticky lip gloss include Revlon Super Lustrous, Sephora Ultra Shine Lip Gloss, and Clinique Long Last Glosswear.
Sweat proof makeup tip # 5 - Blot excess oil
Powder-free blotting paper is your best friend in hot weather. Why powder-free paper? Because when your skin gets hot and begins to sweat, powder will make your face look chalky. To keep your makeup looking fresh and sweat-free, stash a supply of blotting paper in your purse or pocket. Try using Tweezerman Facial Blotting Papers to remove excess oil, dirt and keep skin looking shine-free.

Post a Commentliving in Houston I definately need these tips
Excellent.
I tend not to wear face makeup in the summer months because I can't stand the feeling of it dripping down my face. Eye makeup though, is quite another thing – those under-eye sweats can be annoying, so I use shadow there instead of liner. Great tips though.
Awesome advice!
It's freezing cold here in NY but this information will come in handy when the weather warms up :) cheers!
Thanks, Jenny :)
As I get older, I find that everything tends to ooze into different places. This includes my bustline, wild hairs and make-up. Thanks for the tips. I'll try them and hope to keep at least the make up in the right spot, even though my breasts may be in my panty hose.
I like tinted moisturizer. I make my own sometimes.. a dab of liquid makeup with a dab of Neutrogena.
Very helpful!
