Keep Those Pounds Off - Eating and Fitness Guidelines

Monica Merrin
There are numerous diet plans on the internet and in fitness club facilities. Most promise to help you lose weight quickly. But what do you do after you lose weight? How do you prevent the pounds from piling on again? This year I was able to lose approximately 10 pounds using a diet I found on the internet. I have been able to keep those pounds off by establishing some key guidelines to follow.

1) Do not skip breakfst.

2) Choose green vegetables over a starchy potato.

3) Eat bread with only two meals a day.

4) Use fruit as a snack food.

5) Try to finish all eating by 6:00 pm every day.

6) Eat a dessert early in the day if you are craving one. However, avoid desserts as much as possible.

7) Drink coffee or tea in between meals or after 6:00 p.m. if hungry. (Starbucks has become my best friend!)

8) Avoid potato chips and like foods.

9) Avoid sugar drinks and replace with water.

10) Do a light workout three times a week (walking, aerobics video, etc.)

11) Do stomach crunches or other abdominal work 5 minutes a day.

Staying physically fit is a continual process. Setting personal eating and fitness guidelines will help to establish discipline in your eating habits. You can do it! Those pounds you worked so hard to lose can stay gone forever!
