For most people, this is a concern, yet they forget to think about it, or don't consider the comfort of their guests. People want to share in your happy day, but there are some big blunders that may make your guests feel unappreciated. When your guests are unhappy, they may soon regret spending so much on your gift, or they may end up leaving early.
Time
If you are getting married during a popular time of the year, you may run into problems booking the best places for your ceremony and reception. Sometimes, when this happens, you end up with a big gap of time between the ceremony and the reception. Even worse, you may end up sending your guests on a wild goose chase trying to find your reception hall. If you want to keep your wedding guests happy, you have to take this into consideration.
For a wedding guest, having to wait for hours in between the ceremony and the reception is a huge mood killer. They are often hungry, and want to sit, relax, and socialize with other guests. In order to keep your wedding guests happy, keep the time in between the two short, and make sure the reception site you have chosen isn't on the other side of the city.
Food
You may have developed a healthy lifestyle, and have found that you like more exotic foods. While there is nothing wrong with this, you may leave your guests cold if they have never laid eyes on what is placed before them when they sit down to eat. Weddings guests are often very hungry when the time comes to eat, and if you offer them food they don't like, you are going to have a lot of unhappy guests.
You can serve what you like, of course, but to keep your wedding guests happy, keep their tastes in mind as well. This doesn't mean you have to serve hamburgers and hotdogs, but make sure there are some widely loved foods on your menu, as well as a few kid friendly choices.
Traditions
Traditions are important, but there are some things that guests have to go through that make them very uncomfortable. One huge issue that I have personally heard a lot of complaints about is the receiving line after the ceremony. I know what you are thinking, "It's tradition!" Yes, it is tradition, but that doesn't mean you can't tweak it a little to keep your wedding guests happy.
Most of your guests will love congratulating you and your parents on your union, but how much do they really know about your bridesmaids and your groomsmen? You may want to leave them out of your receiving line. You may find that not only will this keep your wedding guests happy; your wedding attendants may be relieved as well. Many people just aren't good at forced interactions, and don't know what to say.
Final Thoughts
These are just a few suggestions. They are by no means necessary, and it is ultimately up to you what you do on your big day. Just remember that you will have more fun on your wedding day when you see happy and content guests all around you. Just because something has always been done a certain way, doesn't mean it has to be that way for your day.
