So after the above has been considered and you then identify where your problem areas might exist you can then go about attempting to fix them. The first thing that you can do to fix a ventilation or temperature problem inside your machine is purchase better cooling fans. You can find out the size of your fans by measuring or just trusting your vision. The thing you have to look for in a fan is its rpm or revolutions per minute. The faster the fan blade moves per minute, the better air flow current that is created. In most cases this will also mean a louder pc, but you can purchase fast fans that are also silent with a little bit of extra expense if it bothers you. There installation is fairly easy and you can use your old ones as a guide. Just make sure to keep the fans cleaned and free of dust as well as the rest of your pc.
The next thing you can do to keep the temps down in your pc is create a vent near your pc card. If your pc card does not have a vent near it, then the hot air that is being pushed out by the fan is being trapped in the machine and can't escape, causing the fans that suck in air to suck in hotter air then the outside air making all components inside the machine less efficient. You can drill holes in the machine using a drill as the case is usually made of sheet metal. As king as you clear the ventilation points and make sure your pc is free of dust, you will start to see and feel a drop in temps inside the machine and as a result a better overall performance to.
As stated above the number one most important thing you can do to keep your pc cooler is to clean it regularly, but there is more in the way of fans you can do to bring down the temp. The next thing you can do is purchase a better processor fan and heat sink. This will allow your processor to run cooler and as a result keep your pc overall a cooler one. The next thing you will notice from this decision is that all your components will begin to run better under full load and you will see a drastic increase in the speed and efficiency, Not to mention this type of move will only increase the life of all the components in your machine.
If you still feel that all of these steps are not enough in the way of keeping your pc clean you can also purchase a new case. By purchasing a new case that allows for more room and better airflow you increase its efficiency quickly. There will be a lesser chance that heat will be trapped inside the machine and it will also give you the benefit of extra room to upgrade later if you so choose. Another important thing to note is that by doing this you can store unused wires in the added space which will also cut down on the heat levels and lessen the chance that any of the wires get damaged. All in all these procedures are relatively inexpensive and require very little work on your part. In the end it will add increased efficiency and life to your machine.
