KEEPING MONEY in FOREIGN BANKS by AFRICAN LEADERS

Akindelly
One ugly and common issue in many African countries over the years is the idea of keeping money in foreign banks. Much of these money are stolen from tax payers' money and kept in these banks even while the citizens of those countries continue to wallop in abject poverty. Today, money running to billions of dollars that suposed to be used to develop those countries' economies are unfortunately being kept in foreign banks. Many African countries are today regarded as 'underdeveloped' when compared to countries in other continents like Europe, North America and others when indicators of development are used as yardsticks because of the dubious and corrupt nature of the leaders. What is amazing is that even though the foreign banks realise that these funds are stolen money, they keep on accepting deposits from these dubious leaders. It is high time the source (s) of the money in various foreign accounts are ascertained. However, those traceable to fraudulent actions of the leaders should be returned so that African countries can be spared the agony of continued underdevelopment, occassioned by the fraudulent actions of their leaders.
