Keeping your money safe is essential, gone are the days when you would keep your money under your mattress, So how do I go about keeping my money safe I here you ask....Well below are just a few tips, ideas and a bit of guidance that will hopefully get you on your way

Spread the risk ! By this I mean don't put all of your eggs in one basket. If you have savings try not to put them all in one bank account as we all know what can and does happen to even the largest of banks.

TOP TIP: Be wise, check that the bank you are using or are going to be using is regulated and that you are covered and protected, as you don't want to end up being out of pocket

Keep your eyes and ears on the market place, watch what both the interest rates and markets are doing. By knowing what's going on you will be able to plan what to do with your money to keep it even safer, be it transferring it and keeping it in an easy access account, or possibly even moving it into stocks, shares and bonds.

TOP TIPS: Keep track of exactly how much money you have and where it is kept and also remember -Don't keep or have the same passwords and login details for all of your accounts, don't make it easy for people to get hold of you information.

Seek professional independent financial advice. If you are looking for further advice or information as to how you can keep your money even safer, then perhaps its worth talking to an independent financial advisor, they may be able to offer some guidance with regards to your specific situation, they may be able to offer a more personalised service, providing you with information and advice on such areas as bonds and trusts.

Know you risks and do your homework! To keep your money as safe as you can its always worthwhile doing your research and homework, be it researching a new bank, a new account or perhaps a bonds terms and conditions. You don't want to get caught out or stung, so don't jump into anything at the deep end without doing some background research.

TOP TIP: Remember that if it looks too good to be true then it probably is. Steer clear of any get rich quick schemes and anything promising to double your money overnight. Its not worth the risk.

I hope you have found this article both useful and helpful and I wish you every success in keeping your money as safe as you possibly can
