These days there are plenty of things that may bring on negativity. The economy is down and out raising prices but your salary. Yes indeed stress is all around. The good news is thinking positive comes from within and costs you nothing out of pocket.
Being positive can spread to the people who are closest to you in your daily environment. Changing your attitude will brighten your day as well as others around you. Your children will be glad to see a smiling face. Your co workers will enjoy a warm good morning. Most importantly you will love the changes to your new life.
To make a permanent change in attitude there is some work involved. Thinking positive is more then words or rehearsing sayings and slogans. It takes effort in strengthening your mental power. It sounds hard I know but it's easier then you may think.
Here are a few Tips I've learned to improve positive thinking:
Believe in yourself! When you are sure that you are doing the right thing don't second guess. Know that you can and will succeed at whatever you are putting your mind too. Be your own support system and get it done.
Leave the negativity behind you. Ignore negative thoughts, comments and feelings. You will not get far if you continue to think that you will fail. Brush off any thoughts of failure and turn them into supportive thoughts.
Become aware of happiness. Happiness is out there for everyone. Keep positive people and influences close to you. Relax and enjoy good times.
Speak highly upon yourself. It's nothing wrong with giving yourself a boost every now and then. Speak of your success and achieved goals. This helps more then you may think.
Seek Professional help. Professional help is not always in the form of a doctor or psychiatrist. Try reading an inspirational book or article once a week. Inspiring words give the drive you need to succeed.
When setting goals be sure to keep success in mind. Know before you start that you will be successful in the end. Never think of the "what ifs". Know that your plan is fail proof and see it all the way through.
Push away from newspapers and The News. Current events can be depressing and bring your mood down for no reason. Minimize the time you spend listening to depressing headlines.
And finally get active and in good shape. Nothing makes you feel better then looking good. Take a jog or walk at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes a day. You'll feel great, look great and be in good physical health.
Thinking positive can change your life drastically. Keeping a positive attitude even when the situation is not as you would like helps in many ways. Times may get tough but keeping a positive attitude allows you to make the best of whatever you're going through.
These tips are not set in stone and by no means replace professional advice. try these tips and if they do not work you may want to seek professional attention.
