Keeping Your Property Safe on Mischief Night, the Night Before Halloween

Jody Morse
Mischief Night, or the night before Halloween, is a very common time for people to experience vandalism. While some people only experience minimal vandalism damage, such as toilet papered trees, there are other people who are victimized much worse. Here, we will take a closer look at just a few of the many things that you can do in order to keep your property safe on Mischief night.

Park Your Car in the Garage on Mischief Night

It is very common for people to have their cars vandalized on Mischief Night. Some people may have eggs thrown at their cars, while others may have their windows smashed with a baseball bat. No matter what the case is, the best thing that you can do is park your car in the garage. If you do not have a garage, you might want to consider "hiding" your car at a friend or family member's house where you know that it will stay safe from vandalism. Depending on where you live, leaving your car out in the open may be asking for damage on Mischief Night.

Leave Your House Lights on During Mischief Night

Although you may think that it can't happen to you, it is very possible for your home to be both vandalized and robbed on Mischief Night. The best way to prevent this from happening is to let people know that you are home - even if you aren't. If you choose to go out, you should be sure to turn on the lights in your home. If you are home, you should also be sure to turn them on. Even though there are still some people out there who will vandalize your home when you do leave the lights turned on, it is likely that this will intimidate people more than if your house was completely dark.

Actually Stay at Home On Mischief Night

Many people would recommend you to actually stay home during Mischief Night. The main reason is because you can keep a watch on your house and property. If it should get vandalized, you will get the opportunity to possibly see who did it. If something does happen to your property on Mischief Night, you will be able to call the police immediately, instead of coming home to find out what has happened.

Lock Up Your Valuables on Mischief Night

If you are planning to leave the house on Mischief Night, or even if you aren't, it's a good idea to lock up your valuables. The best thing that you can do is put everything valuable in a safe or somewhere else where you know that it will be safe. If your home should get robbed on Mischief Night, this will help ensure that you will not experience too big of a loss.

Hide Children's Yard Toys on Mischief Night

Since the main culprits of Mischief Night are often youngsters, it is a good idea to make sure that you hide your child's yard toys on Mischief Night. Putting skateboards and bicycles in the garage or house will ensure that they do not get stolen or destroyed on Mischief Night by other kids in the neighborhood. This is something which is very easy to do and which will help keep your child's toys safe.

Lock Car Doors When You Go Out on Mischief Night

It is important to keep in mind that Mischief Night is not limited to your home. Many people also have their cars vandalized when they are out on this night. The best thing that you can do is lock your car doors when you leave your car unsupervised on Mischief Night. You should also be sure to check the back seat before getting in for your own safety.

Sometimes the vandalism that may be experienced on Mischief Night is inevitable. However, each of these things can help prevent you from experiencing any type of major damage from vandalism on Mischief Night. Each of these things is very easy to do in comparison to the price that you may pay if your property should get vandalized on Mischief Night.

Ugg boots (sometimes referred to as uggs or ug boots)are a style of sheepskin boot, with wool as the inner lining and a tanned outer surface worn by both men and women. Ugg boots often have a synthetic sole, although this is not universal. Uggs have been identified as a fashion trend since the early 2000s.

Good information that everyone should pay attention to. Just remember not to leave your front porch light on if you don't have candy. :)
