A relationship is what you make it. However you start the relationship sets the tone for how the relationship will be. If two people truly love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives with one another, then keeping the excitement going year after year does not have to be as hard as you may think. Always remember, whatever you did in the beginning to get that special person, will be what you need to do to keep that special person in your life happy.

Keeping the romance in your relationship is very important, your mate should know at all times that you love them. Showing your mate affection on a daily basis, helps that person feel loved and appreciated. You must do fun things to keep the relationship fresh and new. Have a date night once a week, you could do things such as, go to the movies, dancing, or even a romantic walk in the park. Make the date night something to look forward to each week, each of you take turns choosing what you're going to do.

When choosing something to do, make sure that it is something that you both will enjoy doing. There are so many factors in keeping a relationship new and exciting, but doing so starts with a few basic things. Always keep the lines of communication open and if there is ever anything that you're not happy with talk to your mate and let them know what's going on with you. The worst thing that you can do is let things build up on the inside. Remember that your mate is your best friend in whom you spend most of your time with, which brings us to another important factor, trust.

Having and keeping your relationship great, you must have respect for the person that you love, meaning that you will listen and be empathetic to their needs. Relationships are give and take, so therefore two people who are willing to compromise can never go wrong. There will be times when you disagree, and that's ok, because nothing or no one is perfect, but always have a kind heart and be will to forgive and forget.
