Keepsake Christmas Tree Ornaments for New Parents

When you're shopping for Keepsake Christmas tree ornaments, you definitely want to get something nice and memorable that will last, and hang on the Christmas tree for years. Personalized Christmas ornaments always make a great gift for any new parent, and are a unique and distinctive gift for anyone.

Photo Picture Frame Ornaments- Are a nice way to share even more memories through a Christmas ornament. They make the best Christmas ornament gift, and come in just about every material and design. (Ceramic, plastic, glass, etc.) As your child grows, he/she will get to see their pictures on the Christmas tree every year as they grow. See Here for more ideas for giving pictures as gifts.

Cartoon character Ornaments- Are always a cute and kid-friendly Christmas ornament idea. You can find these in many different shapes, sizes, and designs. They're a very ideal gift for a child, and range from Hello Kitty to Charlie brown. These cute ornaments come in just about every cartoon. You can get them personalized at certain places, such as at a local mall booth, or on the Internet. For these, I recommend Ornamentshop.com.

Metal- One of the more traditional Christmas ornaments that you will see people buying. Metal ornaments are just as nice as glass ornaments, except there is a small chance in the metal ones breaking! They are very cheap to buy, and easy to personalize. I recommend purchasing them from walmart, because you can always find them there, and they also do fast, free personalization. This is also one of the ornament types that you don't have to worry about getting broken in the mail. They come in many shapes and different designs. Some may have glitter, pearls, etc. on them to add a little touch to it. For baby's first Christmas, I recommend buying a snowman, stocking, or an angel.

Glass Ornaments- They are nicer in a way, and are a great work of craftsmanship. There's glass Christmas balls that you can personalize, or there's glass plaques/shapes, and you can also get painted glass ornaments for a nice touch too.

You can find these for sale at your local mall at a stand, walmart, or on the Internet. I do not suggest buying them off the Internet. This is because glass ornaments are very fragile, and they may break if not handled properly. If you do happen to buy glass ornaments from the Internet, however, I recommend Personalizedmall.com. They have fast 1-2 day shipping, and free personalization.

These special ornaments are very fragile. They should be displayed somewhere on your tree where pets and children may not bump into them/mess with them. (I have a couple personal experiences with this myself) So it'd be best to hang the ornaments that are less likely to break at the bottom of the tree, and the breakable ones at the top. This way you don't make the same mistake I did by letting your child have reach of them. The $20 Christmas ornament got shattered.

Another thing when you're buying glass ornaments is to watch the price. You can find a nice one for less than $15, but some places are overcharged for glass Christmas ornaments. For new parents, I recommend buying something simple, such as an ornament in the shape of a heart, or a stocking. On these ornaments, add a little message such as "Baby's First Christmas 2008", "Our little bundle of joy 2008", etc.
