Kefee Peanut Butter: An Inexpensive Alternative to Jiff

Tyler Harbolt
Peanut butter is becoming a hot commodity among people everywhere. It is inexpensive and can be used in combination with almost any food to create a fantastic and delicious dish. As with our free market, there is competition that abounds when it comes to choosing a brand of peanut butter for you and your family. Jiff, Skippy, and Peter Pan pretty much control the market with their products of delicious peanut butter. I chose to take the path less traveled and choose an off-brand peanut butter from the Kefee corporation. This peanut butter has shown to be almost as good in taste as Jiff for a much more reasonable price.

Claiming myself as a connoisseur of peanut butter products, I have tried just about every peanut butter in mass circulation in the great lakes region. It wasn't until my life experiences landed me in a prison cell that I discovered Kefee's peanut butter. At first I was hesitant to give up my Jiff peanut butter but at the hands of a system that controls my monetary situation, I was encouraged to try the Kefee peanut butter and I must say that I could not have been more amazed. At first the peanut butter looked a little more greasy than the smooth Jiff I was used to, but it was only a visual illusion. I recall the first sandwich I made with the Kefee peanut butter. It was on white bread and the peanut butter spread just like any other peanut butter I had tried before. I supplemented the sandwich with my choice of jelly and took a bite. The Kefee peanut butter was surprisingly not bad at all. The texture was that of any peanut butter I had tried in the past and the flavor was almost just like the Jiff. The 8 ounce jar cost me two dollars and some change as opposed to the 4 ounce Jiff jar which was over a dollar more expensive.

It seemed at this point I had found my new favorite peanut butter. I would use it henceforth on many different foods I had. I would spread it on Ramon noodles and assortments of Little Debbie snack cakes as well as mix it with my oatmeal or just eat a spoon full of the delicious paste. It was high in protein which was a good supplement for my workout regiment and it was inexpensive for my budget. This peanut butter had saved my wallet from unnecessary pains it would encounter from other expenses in the prison system and it worked great to supplement my calorie intake.

3 years later I was released from prison and found myself on another tight budget. This budget was much more tight as I had many more expenses. I was working but I had bills and fines to pay so naturally I was attracted by the Kefee corporation's products. If I were to place a Jiff sticker on the jar I would never know the difference and I doubt anyone else would either. It has shown me that sometimes a name is just a name and when it comes to the end of the day, my budget is much more important than brand loyalty. As of today I use Kefee peanut butter any time I wish to eat peanut butter because it is much easier on my wallet and still gives me the same benefits of Jiff or other premium brands.

Peanut butter has become a large part of my life and I couldn't be happier with the price and taste of Kefee peanut butter. When I think back to the days when I foolishly purchased major name brand peanut butters, I wonder of all the money I would have saved by choosing a more generic brand. If I could go back in time and change my choices I most certainly would in more than one aspect, but I can't so sometimes I just live and learn. I have learned from my experiences that Kefee peanut butter is a great alternative to Jiff.
