Keira Knightly to Quit Acting?

Even though British beauty, Keira Knightly is only just 22 years old, the actress is famous through out the world for her movie roles. In a recent interview Keira Knightly has said she is tired of the press attention and attacks on her weight and is now considering quitting acting for good.

The interview was recently published in Ella Magazine.

In the interview Keira Knightly said, "The celebrity thing is completely crazy. I think I just have to move away or give it up altogether. She also said that she "wanted a life instead."

Keira Knightly says that she is a naturally thin woman who is being attacked by the media in all of the recent talk about super thin models and actresses. It is also reported that photographs of Keira Knightly have been posted on websites that promote anorexia. According to Knightly this incident has "devastated" her. She also said, "I hate the fact that naturally thin women like me are becoming scapegoats for mental illness."

The recent accusations saying that Keira Knightly was making anorexia look like a good idea and the total lack of any privacy have pushed the young star over her limits. She told Elle that her current way of life prevented her from leading a normal life and that it would prevent her from having children.

Zero sized models and actresses are the subject of much media controversy at the moment. The women who repeatedly make the front pages of newspapers and magazines are being called bad role models for young women.

One example is the case of Sophie Muzurek's 19-year-old daughter, who died of anorexia. Sophie Muzurek is claiming that women like Keira Knightly, who are constantly shown in the spotlight, are responsible for the death of her daughter.

In the interview Keira Knightly told how she was just a naturally think women and would love to have a more curvaceous womanly figure, but attempts to achieve this have failed. She said that she admired curvy women, saying that Beth Ditto had "the most amazing body."

Keira Knightly first made her appearance on the big screen when she was 14 years old. Her most famous roles to date are her performances in the Pirates of the Caribbean films along side Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom and as Elizabeth Bennet in 'Pride and Prejudice'.

If and when Keira Knightly will actually leave acting for good won't be know until she completes here current film commitments. She is currently filming 'Best Time of Our Lives' and will begin work on 'Silk' and 'Atonement' toward the end of 2007.
