Go to FOX News
Due to his antics on and off camera (which probably had a lot to do with him being fired), Keith Olbermann really had become the face of MSNBC. So if he really wants to show the network what they're missing out on after dumping him, why not start working for MSNBC's mortal enemy? FOX News then could actually own their "fair and balanced" label, and FOX News execs could laugh all the way to the bank knowing that a new liberal crowd is helping to further line their pockets. So would Keith Olbermann do it? Probably not, but if he and Glenn Beck did a show together, the ratings would be through the roof (I can already envision Glenn Beck using his chalk board as a shield while Keith Olbermann attacks him with sheets of paper).
Become the Regis Replacement
Keith Olbermann has spent a lot of time being angry and over-the-top on TV, so maybe he needs to take a break from that world (especially after the stress of being fired) and give the upbeat, cheese-tastic world of morning television a try as the Regis replacement. "Keith and Kelly" certainly has a ring to it, and I could really see them as the perfect devil/angel pairing. The break from politics would be good for Keith Olbermann, but he'd have to change his "Worst Person in the World" to the "Best Person in the World" to give all the housewives out there their morning dose of sugar (although it would be really fun to see him snarkily interview celebrity guests).
Go to the Onion News Network on IFC or SportsDome on Comedy Central
Keith Olbermann got fired after years of putting an often comedic, over-the-top spin on the news, which makes him a perfect candidate for a show like the Onion News Network on IFC. He'd just be reporting on fake news instead (you know, kind of like some of the reporters at FOX News). And he's also an experienced sportscaster, meaning he could give Comedy Central's SportsDome and the sports on it (like masturbating and old fat guy body surfing) a little more credibility.
Just go to Comedy Central
This is the most obvious move for Keith Olbermann, since Comedy Central already has a massive leftwing fan base thanks to Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. I say just cut the whole news setup and give him a show like Tosh.0 where he pokes fun at clips of politicians doing and saying stupid things. It would also be entertaining to see Keith Olbermann show his softer side with his own version of Tosh's web redemption where he invites political figures on the show to redeem themselves after really bad flubs (up first: Rick Santorum).
Move to Parker Spitzer on CNN
CNN needs someone like Keith Olbermann to spice things up a bit. It's definitely one of the most tepid news channels right now, and Keith Olbermann would bring with him plenty of loyal viewers. CNN is apparently looking to replace Kathleen Parker on Parker Spitzer, so why not just change the whole dynamic and have Eliott Spitzer and Keith Olbermann double-team guests? Sure it would be unfair, but, in case you haven't noticed, "fair and balanced" isn't what really draws in viewers.
Whatever happens, it's hard to imagine Keith Olbermann disappearing from television after being fired, and I really don't think he'll want to return to sportscasting (it's just not nearly as fun as ranting about political figures). So here's to hoping that someone finds some way to make the best use out of his big mouth.

Post a CommentComcast is evil and their service sucks. I have to wait an xfinity just to open anything on their website! And then it ends up being totally not worth it.
If MSNBC had to dump anyone, why oh why couldn't it have been Joe?
Ditto GB 54.
Oprah needs programing; wherever he ends up I'll be watching. The Democratic party should have his back as he has had theirs.
"With the exception of the left wing koolaid drinkers".
Now we all listen to the litany of Right wing buttholes like... Michelle Malkin, Michelle Bockman, Glenn, Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Laura Imgram, Carl, Rove and Mike Savage witout any rebuttal to their one sided Corporate Fasism middleclass destroying bullshit rhetoric.
With the exception of the left wing koolaid drinkers, Comcast did everyone a huge public service.
It's time to get rid of comcast
