Keith Olbermann Suspension Over

After Two Days into His Indefinite Suspension, MSNBC Plans to Put Keith Olbermann Back on the Air

After only two days of his indefinite suspension without pay for violating NBC company policy and making donations to political campaigns, Keith Olbermann is back on the air. Well, not yet, but soon.

Since Keith Olbermann was the ratings cash cow for MSNBC (and believe me, that's not saying much) something tells me they reconsidered real quick. But, anyway.

Amazingly, after Keith Olbermann was placed on suspension on Friday for admitting that he donated funds to three democrats during the mid-term election cycle, many people on both sides of the aisle came to his defense.

Bill Kristol, conservative commentator for Fox News and columnist for the Weekly Standard spoke up heartily in Olbermann's defense saying,

"First, he donated money to candidates he liked. He didn't take money, or favors, in a way that influenced his reporting. Second, he's not a reporter. It's an opinion show. If Olbermann wants to put his money where his mouth is, more power to him.

And of course, as one might expect, many of the left and progressives, such as Michael Moore, spoke up on his behalf as well.

So, after two, long, agonizing days over the weekend, Keith Olbermann was without a job. Somehow, I think he might use this horrifying experience to bolster his case for the "little guy".

I'll bet his commentary will now include such Clintonian phrases as, "I feel your pain." And indeed, he did. For two whole days - over the weekend.

All sarcasm and attempts at lame humor, aside, I must agree with those who came to Keith Olbermann's defense. Frankly, that he donated money to Democratic political campaigns is no shock. Keith Olbermann makes no hay or apology for his political leanings.

Not to mention, his show is not a hard news show. It is clearly, political opinion and commentary. So, let the guy donate his money where he wants to donate. It's his right and it's his privilege. Period.

Keith Olbermann responded to the support he received this weekend by Tweeting (because he is so urbane as well as liberal) "Greetings from exile! A quick, overwhelmed, stunned THANK YOU for support that feels like a global hug."

While I'm sure he felt special and all loved up over this, unfortunately, compared to the outrage over Juan Williams' firing, this outrage, if you even want to call it that, was pretty tepid. Because, unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you want to look at it, people don't really like you that much, Keith.

We do however, think you have a right to speak what you want to speak (no matter how stupid it sounds coming out of your mouth) and you definitely have the right to put your money where your mouth is. Which you clearly do.

So, bearing all of that in mind - welcome back.

Here, here! I too lamented the two whole days deal. What a crock. It was show as well as apparently an internal power struggle between Olbermann, the mouth that roared, and MSNBC leadership. 2 whole days? PULEEEEZE!

Two whole days. Wow. They retracted quickly.
