Kellie Pickler Shares January 1 Wedding Date Along with Twain and Bertinelli

Kellie Pickler of Season 5 American Idol infamy married songwriter Kyle Jacobs on January 1 on a private Caribbean island. While Pickler and Jacobs eloped, Shania Twain married Frederic Thiebaud in Puerto Rico and Valerie Bertinelli married long-time beau Tom Vitale in Malibu on the same day.

Kyle Jacobs, 37, proposed to Pickler, 24, last June on a Florida beach which happened to be the same day as Pickler's late grandmother's birthday. The American Idol alum said of that day, "It was the most spiritual moment. We would've gotten married that night had there been a preacher walking by!"

According to RightCelebrity.com, Jacobs co-wrote Garth Brooks' More Than A Memory and has written songs for Tim McGraw, Kellie Pickler, Trace Adkins, Terri Clark and more.

Pickler competed against American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, the first male winner of AI, along with runner-up Katherine McPhee during the January through May, 2006 Season 5 segment.

Regarding Kyle Jacobs, Pickler reportedly told Us Magazine in August, "I could never love somebody the way I love him. He's my world."

On January 4, three days after her wedding, Pickler tweeted, "Private Island. Caribbean. Cigar in one hand, Rum in the other. Someone just called me "Mrs. Jacobs."....sounds nice :)"
