You probably know Kellie Pickler from Season 5 of American Idol in which she won the hearts of many with her small town ways, her mispronunciation of words, and her beautiful voice which landed her the number six spot for Season Five of Fox's hugely successful American Idol.

Pickler told People that she and Jacobs had been planning a rather gala event for their wedding when it occurred to her that they "were getting lost in the process."

As a result, Kellie explained, "When two people get married, it's not about the glamour. It's about the bride and groom and God."

As such, the couple eloped and married in a very private manner.

Pickler's refreshing attitude and quirky personality have won the hearts of many and her tough early life of an absent mother and father who was in and out of jail draws people to follow her. As a result, Pickler was largely raised by her paternal grandparents.

In addition to Pickler's winning ways, her voice has also swooned millions. In 2006, Kellie signed with 19 Recordings and BNA Records, releasing Small Town Girl, her debut album in the same year.

She's also had three singles make it to the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts including 'Red High Heels', 'I Wonder', and 'Things That Never Cross a Man's Mind'.

Pickler's husband Kyle Jacobs proposed to her last June on a Florida beach which happened to be the same day as Pickler's late grandmother's birthday. The American Idol alum said of that day, "It was the most spiritual moment. We would've gotten married that night had there been a preacher walking by!"
