Kellogg's Cereal Recall Affects 28 Million Boxes of Cereal (Corn Pops, Froot Loops, More)
2010 Kellogg's Cereal Recall Information
Kellogg's Cereal Recall: Froot Loops, Corn Pops, Apple Jacks Among Recalled Cereal
A Friday press release from the company reads, "Working in consultation with the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Kellogg Company is implementing a voluntary recall of certain breakfast cereals." The 2010 Kellogg's cereal recall, which was prompted by a strange "off-flavor" and bad smell coming from the product and packaging, reportedly affects up to 28 million boxes of cereal. The 28 million boxes of Kellogg's cereal being pulled back from store shelves were shipped and distributed all over the country.
The nationwide June 2010 Kellogg's cereal recall announced Friday includes specific lots of certain varieties of Kellogg's cereal, and not all Kellogg's products are affected. Products listed above that have a 'Best If Used By' label date of between April 2011 and June 22 2011 appear to be most affected. For a complete list of recalled cereals as put forth by Kellogg's Co. Friday, visit the company's web site and view the official press release here.
Customers who purchased and still have items on the list of recalled breakfast cereals can contact Kellogg's for a refund or replacement. Customers are advised not to eat the cereal items listed in the recall notice even though there is no great risk of health problems, because of the potential for "temporary effects" such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. If consumers have further questions or need more information on this voluntary June 2010 cereal recall, they should call Kellogg's at 1-888-801-4163.

Post a CommentI guess I need to check the date on the Froot Loops in my pantry.
Good information. Thanks.
Nobody should be eating that crap anyway.
This is unbelievable. I'm glad there are none of these in my cupboard right now. I've been buying organic lately.
Isn't this unbelievable?
Excellent reporting.
Glad I don't eat any of those cereals. Sorry for parents whose kids love those brands.
As Tony the Tiger might say, "They're (NOT) Great!"
wow, I feed some of these to my parrot, wonder if it's okay for him?
