Kelloggs Recall: What You Need to Know

Logan McCall
On June 25, Kelloggs issued a voluntary Kellogs recall on approximately 28 million boxes of Kelloggs brand cereal due to the discovery that the products were not meeting the quality standards that the company has set for their cereals. According to their consumer alert concerning the matter, customers are advised to not eat these cereals and to contact the Kelloggs Consumer Response Center for replace coupons for the cereals. Here is what you need to know about which cereals are included in the Kelloggs recall, as well as the reasons that the Kelloggs recall was issued.

The Kelloggs recall affects four different types of popular Kelloggs cereals, including Corn Pops, Apple Jacks, Honey Smacks and Fruit Loops. Consumers who have recently purchased one of these products are advised to check to see if the product code date on the box matches the product codes that are included in the Kelloggs recall. These product code dates are listed at the bottom of this article for your convenience.

Kelloggs issued this voluntary recall of some of their cereals due to an unattractive odor that was discovered when consumers opened their foil bag containing their cereal. The white foil bags apparently caused the products to develop a strange smell and a flavor that does not meet the expectations of Kelloggs customers. Although there are no clear health concerns related to the cereals included in the recall, customers should not eat these products. A small number of customers have reported temporary nausea or diarrhea after eating cereals that are included in the Kelloggs recall.
