Meal Replacement bars can be a great low calorie / high protein breakfast or lunch option when in a rush or out on the go. I am partial to the meal bars that are not so super sweet but decided to give the Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bar a try when I saw it offered as a free sample. So, how does this super sweet, low calorie meal bar for dieters rate?

Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bar: Product Performance

When my Kellogg's meal bar sample arrived in the mail I opted to try it along with my morning coffee as a quick / no fuss breakfast option. I always like to get in and out of weekday breakfasts without any dishes if I can help it; and the Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bar was a great chance to do just that.

This meal bar ain't kiddin' around when it professes to be chocolatey; it contains chewy chocolate chips within the bar as well as swirls of chocolate covering the outside of the bar. The meal bar was way too sweet for my tastes but did fill me up sufficiently until my late morning snack.

170 calories per serving (serving size is one bar) and 40 fat calories per serving.

Though all I've seen online in terms of price pertains to bulk two and three box packs, the Kellogg's meal bars tend to be offered at most retail chains for around $4.50; Walmart advertises a two pack 18 bar set for $10.96.

Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bar: Overall

This super sweet low calorie meal bar for dieters did not appeal to me and I would not buy it again. As I said, I don't prefer super sweet foods so the Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bar didn't float my boat; I would rate it at two stars out of five. But if you're a chocoholic or have a sweet tooth, this may be just the low calorie meal bar for you.
