Kelly Osbourne in Rehab Again

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne Stand Behind Kelly's Decision

Wendy Dawn
Last week Kelly Osbourne was arrested for jack-slapping a journalist back in the fall. The journalist had insulted the smarts of her boyfriend. (He didn't know what caused an earthquake.)

This week she is in rehab. Is it repentance? Is it a ploy to get out of jail free when she visits the po-po in March?

According to mom, Sharon Osbourne, Kelly has admitted herself to rehab. Contact Music reports that this time the young singer, daughter of Ozzy Osbourne, is believed to be in a treatment center in Oregon.

This is Kelly Osbourne's third time in rehab. Let's hope the third time is a charm.

The Osbourne parents seem to present the attitude that these kinds of problems are common to all kids. I'm not denying the kids in our country have a problem with drugs and alcohol, but the degree to which Kelly has imbibed in pills and libations is over-the-top.

Even so, it seems like the Osbourne parent excuses and dismissal of their children's problems isn't doing their kids any good.

Sharon Osbourne is reported as having said that they were proud of Kelly for going to rehab. Sharon is reported as having said, "Yeah, Kelly's in rehab." I'm sure Sharon feels deeply about her daughter's problem, but that comment alone sounds so dismissive, like "Yeah, she's spending the night at a friend's."

Sharon did continue," She knew that it was the right thing to do at this point and we're proud that she did it. The family is all standing behind her. Kelly knew that she needed help and she's getting it."

I'm struggling with Sharon's justification that "she knew it was the right thing to do at this point." Did she not know the right thing to do prior to this point was stay away from alcohol and drugs.

I don't know why celebrities continue to spend money in rehab resorts that result in no change in behavior. Are they paying for P.R. to announce that they are trying to get their act together in rehab?
