Kendra Wilkinson Sex Tape Scandal: The Next in a Long List of Celebrities

Is anyone really surprised that the former Playboy Playmate and "Girls Next Door Star" has a sex tape? Her sex tape called "Kendra Exposed" just recently came out. I myself am only surprised it took so long for one to surface. It seems like every time you sneeze another actor, actress, reality show star, singer or sports figure has one that leaks out. It seems to be almost a Hollywood epidemic or status quo now, almost like it's the cool thing to do.

It all seemed to start with the famous and now infamous honeymoon sex tape, starring former Playboy Playmate Pamela Anderson and her then husband former Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee. We have been exposed to many of these sex tape scandals over the years, they are nothing new. To name a few we have heard of Jennifer Lopez, Carmen Electra, Kim Kardshian, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Brett Michaels, Lindsey Lohan and Colin Farrell. It is sad to say but you know there will always be more in the future. As long as there are celebrities making them and the public is interested in seeing them.

One wonders why it is so hard for everyone in the public eye to keep their clothes on, and their personal lives private. I know to some candid photos are unavoidable since many stars are practically stalked by fans and paparazzi. But are they so clueless they do not think that making these tapes might not be such a great idea. Speculations are that some stars make and release them for their own personal gain and fame. Radar Online recently reported that Kendra received $680,000 upfront for her sex tape, and will also receive 50% of the tapes profits. When the stars are profiting from their sex tapes it is hard to garner any sympathy for them.

Then you have those on the outside, or the other party involved in the sex tape trying to make a profit. Justin Frye, Kendra's High School boyfriend saw dollar signs a great motivation for releasing their sex tape release. This is what happened to Tiger Woods after word of all his marital infidelities started to pop up so did a alleged sex tape. In January TMZ.com reported a unknown female was shopping around to sell a sex tape of herself and Tiger Woods. I am sure there are many sex tapes involving famous people that never see the light of day, they are probably just used for blackmail and they are paid to go away quietly. I know celebrities are human like everyone else, but when just about everything you do is seen or heard you think many would be more cautious of what they do and who they trust.

Personally I have not watched any of the famous celebrities sex tapes and have no future plans to. It has not changed my opinion on Kendra for better or worse. Weekly I watch her new show "Kendra", her and her husband Hank Baskett seem truly happy. I hope this sex tape scandal does not mess up her marriage. You think with all the divorce talk caused by Tiger Woods multiple infidelities and sex tape some would be more cautious. Unfortunately celebrities seem to have a hard enough time staying married they do not need a sex tape thrown in there to really foul things up.

Whether these sex tapes where made without their knowledge, stolen, released with or without their permission there is something to be learned from all this. The plain hard truth is if you do not want your sex life becoming this months scandal and big news then just use some common sense. Just don't make a sex tape in the first place, or at least be smart enough to erase or destroy it afterwards.
