Coincidences Surrounding the Assassination of John F Kennedy

Dreams and Premonitions of JFK's assassination and Striking Similarities between Kennedy's death and Lincoln's assassination.

The assassination of John F Kennedy, the thirty fifth President of the United States occurred on Friday, 22nd November, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was fatally wounded by gunfire while riding with his wife in a Presidential motorcade.

Premonitions of Kennedy's Assassination

Coincidences were numerous on that never-to-be forgotten day. One which caused much comment was concerned with a one-act play festival under way in the Nampa (California) High School's Little Theatre.

That Friday morning drama students from Cambridge High School were presenting the play "The Last Curtain" based on the assassination of President Lincoln. The play was in the final moments when word came of President Kennedy's tragic death.

Some entirely unaccountable feelings of forebodings have been recorded in connection with John F Kennedy's end. A student, Donna Radin, was leaving Dawson County Junior College around midday. Suddenly she stopped and cried in a loud voice "The President is dead."

Donna had no radio and no means of knowing what was happening. Ten to fifteen minutes later the shooting was confirmed on the campus.

Probably the most dramatic of all premonitions was reported by an operator in the Oxford (California) division of the General Telephone Company. According to some reports, she heard a strange woman's voice whispering "The President is going to be killed."

Apparently the voice was eerie and there were overtones of fright. It was heard twenty minutes before the assassin fired his shot.

President Kennedy and President Lincoln Coincidences

It was inevitable for the remainder of that fateful November that past events with tragic overtones should be recalled. The assassination of President Lincoln for instance took on a new significance for some truly amazing parallels and coincidences came to light.

Both Presidents were concerned with issue of human rights. Lincoln was elected in Congress in 1846 and Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. Lincoln was elected president in 1860 and Kennedy was elected president in 1960.

Both men were shot from behind, in the head and in the presence of their wives on a Friday. Both their successors, after assassination, were named Johnson. Andrew Johnson was born in 1808 and Lyndon Johnson in 1908.

Their assassins also had something in common. John Wilkes Booth was born in 1838 or '39; Lee Harvey Oswald, Kennedy's alleged assassin was born in 1939.

Both were Southerners. Both were assassinated before they could face trial. Booth shot President Lincoln in a theatre and ran from there to a warehouse. Oswald shot President Kennedy from a warehouse and then took refuge in a theatre.

The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters: Andrew Johnson and Lyndon Johnson each contain thirteen letters. John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald each contain fifteen letters.

President Lincoln's secretary (whose name was Kennedy) advised his employer not to go to the theatre. President Kennedy's secretary (whose name was Lincoln) advised his employer not to go to Dallas!

Did John F Kennedy and Lincoln Have Premonitions of their own Deaths?

In June 1961 President Kennedy's secretary was clearing his table when a slip of paper fell to the floor. She picked it up and the words, in Kennedy's handwriting stated "I know that there is a god and I see a storm coming. If he has a place for me, I am ready."

President Abraham Lincoln apparently dreamed of being killed by an assassin and of seeing his body laying in a coffin before he was murdered. Also, days before his death, Lincoln told his wife and friends that he had had a dream where he'd been shot by an assassin. Hours before his death, Kennedy told his wife and friends it would be easy for an assassin to shoot him from a crowd.
