Kenner Starting Lineups Figures Highly Collectible Compared to McFarlane

Some Kenner Figures Can Be Worth Up to $300

The Kenner Starting Lineups action figure line has been around for over twenty years now and is currently popular among collectors. Unfortunately, they are virtually non-existent in stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, and Toys "R" Us. The reason for this is because Kenner stopped manufacturing these figures in 2001. After Kenner released their final line of figures, the McFarlane's Sports Picks line emerged as the brand of choice for collectors. In my opinion, the McFarlane line is decent, but some of the faces on the figures look nothing like the actual athletes. I believe the Tim Duncan figure from the line's first series was fairly accurate and is possibly the best Tim Duncan figure ever made. Anyway, the reason why Kenner has the upper hand on McFarlane is because of the legendary superstar athletes Kenner had released during the 80s and early 90s. Some of the superstars include Tim Brown, Joe Montana, Bernard King, Darrell Green, and the one and only Michael Jordan.

Every Kenner Starting Lineup enthusiast should have a Michael Jordan figure in their collection. Jordan figures are quite rare on the market and are valued up to three hundred dollars depending on the edition they are from. I recommend getting the Michael Jordan figure from the 1992 series since they possess his likeness the most. The 1992 version of Michael Jordan wearing his practice uniform is a MUST for collectors. Another must for collectors would be NFL legend Darrel Green who was a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Washington Redskins. The Darrel Green figure must be from the 1988 series because of its high value. Since both of these figures are almost impossible to find in stores, your best bet is to look for them on www.eBay.com. They may be worth hundreds, but you can win them for about forty dollars apiece. Fortunately, the Michael Jordan figures go for a much lower price on eBay so make sure you do not spend more than twenty dollars on them.

I own a few of these Kenner Starting Lineup figures, but they are not of extreme value. My favorite figure is the David Robinson figure from the 1993 series that comes with two of his trading cards. It is very unfortunate that Kenner does not produce these awesome collectibles because they would definitely be a hot commodity among fans.
