Kenny Wallace Looks Forward to a Great NASCAR Run in 2011
RAB Racing with Brack Maggard Signs Kenny Wallace to Run the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series
That career in broadcasting has done nothing to curb Wallace's desire to be successful behind the wheel and continue racing. This week he took another step towards continuing his success in the NASCAR Nationwide Series when he signed to drive with RAB Racing with Brack Maggard. The team was formed in 2005 and has competed in USAR Pro Cup, ARCA, ASA NASCAR Camping World Trucks and the NASCAR Nationwide Series with drivers Jon Wes Townley and Justin Marks among others.
RAB Racing is looking to capitalize on some very successful NASCAR Nationwide Series runs in 2010, including a win at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in August when road racing ace Boris Said was behind the wheel.
RAB Racing Co-owner Robby Benton looks forward to the coming season, "We've made significant changes at RAB Racing over the last few months in an effort to elevate our program. Our alliance with Toyota, the relationship we have with TRD and now adding Kenny to the mix, will bring some depth to our program."
The team has put together sponsorship for half the season and is confident that all 34 races of the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series will be covered before the beginning of the season at Daytona in February.
Wallace who has nine wins, 10 poles and 63 top-fives in the NASCAR Nationwide Series has a bright outlook on his chances in 2011 as well. "My goal was to find a team with whom I could be competitive and I believe I have found that with RAB Racing, I'm ready to go for 2011." Kenny said.
Toyota and TRD have definitely garnered respect in all three top tier NASCAR series. Wallace believes the opportunity to work and compare notes with other successful Toyota teams including his brother and former NASCAR champion Rusty Wallace increase his chances of success in 2011.
"I've been nervous since the final 2010 Nationwide Series race at Homestead trying to find the right fit for next year and now I can finally sleep at night." Kenny Wallace said.
RAB Racing with Brack Maggard will run Toyota's with sponsorship from North Western Ohio University, Family Farmers and Federated Auto Parts among others, beginning in Daytona.
