Kent 'Kit and Cat' Savory Chicken Flavor Cat Food

A Product Review

In these tight times even our pets have to tighten their belts. We feed quite a few cats at our house and sometimes we feel they use up more of our food budget than the people do. So when we saw that a bag of Kent Brand "Kit and Cat" food was just eleven dollars for 20 pounds we decided to give it a try. We purchased it locally from the same person we buy horse feed from, but it is also available at feed stores, or stores that carry feed, like Shoppers Supply.

Kent "Kit and Cat" Cat Food in "Savory Chicken Flavor" comes in an orange and black bag with a small orange cat near the top who seems to be telling us that Kent has been "Leaders in animal nutrition since 1927." In the center of the bag are a white kitten and adult cat above the "Kit and Cat" logo. The bag tells us that this cat food provides "Quality nutrition for Cats and Kittens". This is good in our situation as we have cats in a variety of ages. It's also nice to know we aren't skimping on quality and nutrition even though we are getting a less expensive product. Like other brands it is enriched with Taurine for healthy hearts and eyes.

But cats only care what their food tastes like and we were hoping they approved. We had purchased another cat food called "Barn Cat" from our feed supplier, and the poor cats looked at us as if they were trying to figure out what they were being punished for. (We ended up using it as a "filler" with a different brand.) But Kent "Kit and Cat" Cat Food in "Savory Chicken Flavor" was cat approved! They seemed to like it as much as any other cat foods we had purchased in the past (and a LOT more than "Barn Cat"). It is important to note that the back of the bag says that "Kit and Kat" should be gradually mixed with the old food over a seven day period, which we tried to do.

I think we will keep purchasing Kent "Kit and Cat" Cat Food in "Savory Chicken Flavor". It's cheaper than what we usually get at Wal-Mart, where we usually purchase the store brand, and is equally nutritious. And according to our cat's reactions it's equally delicious! I recommend it to anyone with cats who is looking to trim a bit from their pet feeding expenses.
