Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant Review

Kentucky Fried Chicken is normally one of my favorite places to stop to get fried chicken. We have recently moved to Gilmer, Texas, so I stopped at the Kentucky Fried Chicken located on highway 271, here in town. I love to cook, and admit that I like my fried chicken better, but at times I just don't feel like cooking or just plain don't want to, so Kentucky Fried Chicken is what we get.

Usually Kentucky Fried Chicken has fair service, good product and decent prices. The service yesterday could not even be considered as fair. The product was not good and the prices, well in my opinion, they could have been better.

Let's start off with the service that I received at Kentucky Fried Chicken. As I went in the door, the cashier was entering right behind me, complaining the whole time that he was unable to smoke a cigarette for all of the customers that continued to come in for Kentucky Fried Chicken. Imagine that. So sorry to inconvenience you, while you are ON THE JOB, getting paid to sell me chicken.

After taking my order and I paid for my purchase, when the Kentucky Fried Chicken employee handed me the change, the receipt was on top of the bills and coins, and as I reached for the receipt, he pulled his hand back and my change went tumbling into the floor. I had to bend over to retrieve the coins and bills, but the Kentucky Fried Chicken employee made no move to help me to get the change that fell behind the counter, so I guess he got a little undeserved tip. He then quickly left the counter and the building, to go have the cigarette that he so desperately desired.

Now lets talk about Kentucky Fried Chicken's product, that I had to wait 20 minutes on, even though there was a total of 3 people in the restaurant, and plenty of chicken prepared. I know I could see it. Anyway, when I got my order home, the first thing I noticed, no biscuits. I did have an extra gravy, but NO biscuits which I clearly asked for, to make certain that they in fact did come with my order.

That brings us to Kentucky Fried Chickens so called specialty, chicken. I ordered the 10 piece family meal, which consisted of 1 leg, 2 thighs, 3 breasts, 3 wings and a battered bone of some kind with a small amount of meat attached. It smelled wonderful, I was hungry. I took the first bite and the chicken was so extremely salty I gagged. I could not eat it!

Luckily the coleslaw was eatable, watery, but eatable and I do have to admit that the instant mashed potatoes and the gravy we're quite tasty. It would have been nice to have had a biscuit with the gravy though!

All in all, my experience with the Gilmer Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant was not a pleasant one. The price I had to pay for the terrible service, the too salty chicken, no biscuits, watery coleslaw and the 20 minutes of my time? $18.39 plus whatever change that the Kentucky Fried Chicken employee retrieved from behind the counter.

Whoops. The staff at the local KFC here usually does pretty well. Sounds like they need to visit the store in your review...

I just feel that I should add a comment. I have eaten at many other local KFC's and have NO complaints. I just think this particular restuarant needs improvement! Thanks everyone for your comments!

That sounds horrible. I too have experienced those employees that are complaining about stuff while in the presence of customers. Childish it is. Well, hopefully you can find a better place around there somewhere. Great Article!
