So naturally, we go home, pop a bag of microwaveable popcorn, stick in a new movie and enjoy. The seasoning itself was wonderful! We added this Caramel seasoning to a 'light butter' bag of popcorn and it gave us just the perfect amount of sweetness, almost like a kettle corn flavor without the added salt. But the more I thought about it, and after looking at the ingredients on the container, I started to realize that this product has so many more great uses besides just popcorn. Being that the main ingredients in this particular product are Sugar, Brown Sugar and natural Caramel flavorings, my goodness, my sweet tooth went crazy! So here is what I've come up with so far...
Toast - Instead of buttered toast and jam, or dry toast and peanut-butter, how about toast with a light layer of butter and a bit of Kernel Season's Caramel Popcorn seasoning? Not only will you have a nice little sweet treat on your otherwise boring buttered toast, but at 5 calories per serving, what a fun and easy way to make a nice breakfast snack!
Sugar Cookies - Typical sugar cookies already have some nice sweetness to them, but what about something a little extra? Have you ever had a Snicker-doodle cookie? It's basically like a sugar cookie but it's got a little extra brown sugar sweetness to it... and oh what Kernel Season's Caramel Popcorn Seasoning could do to a simple sugar cookie! Just sprinkle a little of this on top of each cookie when they are hot out of the oven, and wha-la! For only 99 cents (at my local Blockbuster) this little sweet seasoning shaker is going to get a lot of use in my house!
White Rice - Some people like to have a nice bowl of steamed rice as an afternoon snack, or a simple lunch treat. But what if you took an ordinary bowl of steamed white rice, added a tiny bit of butter and sprinkled a little Kernel Season's Caramel Popcorn Seasoning to it? I'd bet this same idea would work well with steamed brown rice, jasmine rice, or really most any plain rice for that matter. Don't forget, only 5 calories per serving in this little seasoning delight, so this is an awesome way to add a little no-guilt sweetness to your snack.
Cereal - Some of us like to add a little sprinkle of sugar to a bowl of cereal. Let's take good old fashioned Cheerios for example on this one. Instead of using plain sugar, try using a little shake of Kernel Season's Caramel Popcorn Seasoning, and you've got a great sweet & tasty bowl of cereal!
Corn on the Cob - I recently saw a show on TV where a gal was putting mayonnaise on her corn on the cob. As strange as I personally found that to be, I thought a good idea would be to try adding a shake of Kernel Season's Caramel Popcorn Seasoning to your corn cob. A little salt, a little butter, a little shake of Caramel Seasoning, what a tasty way to fancy up your traditional corn on the cob!
Now, these are just a few of the fun ideas I've came up with for this product so far. I'm not sure how easy this product would be to find in your local grocery store, but I'm pretty sure you can find it next to the popcorn at your local Blockbuster Video. Locally, this product is selling for 99 cents in a cute little .9oz shaker, but you can also buy it in a 3oz container on KernelSeasons.com for $3.99. This is probably one of the best fun and affordable treats I've discovered all summer!
