Keurig Coffee Maker - Best in Town!

Let me start by saying that I am not a coffee drinker, never have been, never will be. I do love the smell of it though. When I met my husband 7 years ago I didn't know people drank that much coffee. I would have to say that my husband averages out about 5 - 7 cups of coffee a day. I am not talking about little cafeteria cups, I am talking about 7-11 24 ounce cups a day. I can't even imagine how much money he would spend in one week, in one month, in one year!! That is just way too much coffee and way too much money. When we got married I knew that had to stop. I just couldn't see spending that kind of money of coffee. How good could it taste?

My sister and her husband are passionate coffee drinkers. My brother in law researches everything on the Internet until it becomes overkill. Although in this instance it worked out for us. He recommended we buy the Keurig Coffee Maker. He told us to go to Keurig.com and browse through the models until we found the one that would fit our lifestyle. We ended up purchasing the Keurig B70 model. That's your big boy. My husband was all over this idea. The concept behind this coffee maker is as follows: is makes one cup of coffee at a time using a K Cup. First you fill the reservoir with water. Then you place the KCup in the top where a little needle will make a hole in to brew. Then you close the lid and select the size of the cup you would like to make. You sit back and wait 3 seconds....instantly a fresh homemade cup of coffee to enjoy. It even has a drip tray on the bottom just in case you remove the cup too quickly. The model we have lights up with a blue back light, so cool. Let me explain the KCups. You can buy these in assortment of coffee flavors. Anything from Kona Blend, Mocha Java, light coffee, medium coffee, dark coffee, caffeinated coffee, decaffeinated coffee, specialty coffees, the list goes on and on.

Well, this coffee maker was great for my husband but what about me? This coffee maker cost us $200.00, I wanted to use it too but I hate coffee. Actually I never even tried coffee but why start now. To my surprise, one day while I was reordering some KCups for my husband, I noticed they also make KCups for hot chocolate. WOW! I love hot chocolate, my favorite treat on a chilly winter day. So I ordered it that day. When I finally go taste it, yuck. I did not like it all. Way too watery for my taste. From what I have read other people aren't liking it either. I hope the makers of this product read our reviews and revamp the hot chocolate recipes. I am definitely not reordering those again. So I was sad once again. Nothing for me. Nope I was wrong. My husband felt bad for me so he did his research and found out that they sold KCups Tea. I do like to drink tea. So, it was worth a shot. Nope, didn't like the tea either. I am too picky. My husband says that all the time.

This just wasn't fair. I wanted to use our new machine too. I couldn't believe I didn't think of this earlier. You don't have to put a KCup in at all. You can just brew the hot water. So I got a tea bag and brewed plain hot water. I took the cup of hot water and put my tea bag in it. Delicious. I tried it with my hot chocolate. I took the cup of fresh brewed hot water and added my hot favorite hot chocolate mix. YUMMY! Why didn't I think of this earlier. Just brew plain hot water. It takes seconds instead of 10 minutes waiting for a pot of water to boil.

Once I figured this out I was golden. I recommended this coffee maker to everyone who would listen. To date, we have the Keurig, my sister has it, my sister in law has it, my neighbor just bought it, a friend at work has it in her classroom, and when I went to the bank last week, they had it next to the deposit slips. Ingenious!

I can't say enough good things about this product. If you drink more than 2 cups of coffee a day I would highly recommend this product. You won't be disappointed.

I'm a happy K-cup lover. (Just wrote about it too!) One of my favorite tricks is to brew a coffee AND a hot chocolate -- in the same cup! Of course, it helps to like the taste of coffee, which sounds like it might be a stretch in your case. ;) Enjoy that tea, and thanks for the article.

Your mistake was brewing the hot chocolate K-Cup with the larger cup setting. Your $200 model surely allows you to choose cup size. Go with the smaller cup and it will dilute it less and you'll like it more!
