But moviegoers loved the movie and Paul Blart: Mall Cop became one of the rare January release movies to become a genuine hit.

The plot of the movie is supposed to take place in a suburban New Jersey shopping mall in West Orange, NJ. The real-life Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ, not far from West Orange was chosen for filming but the mall refused to issue a permit for filming. So the movie was actually shot at the Burlington Mall in Burlington, Massachusetts.

With a budget of just $26 million Paul Blart: Mall Cop cleared $157 million dollars at the box office and the movie made another $50 million in DVD sales in 2009 alone.

1) Grilled (2006) - $0 dollars at the box office worldwide

Grilled is a comedy starring Kevin James and his comedian TV friend Ray Romano. The movie features Romano and James as door-to-door meat salesmen who end up getting on the bad side of the Mob.
