Kevin Smith of UCF for Heisman

Will Barry Sanders Record Be Broken

Rich Warren
Kevin Smith has been running through college defenses this year and now he is on the verge of breaking Barry Sanders single season rushing record that has been standing since 1988. He only needs 180 yards to surpass Barry Sanders' record. Kevin Smith who plays for University of Central Florida (UCF) has 2448 yards rushing, which is tops in the nation. Kevin is the nation's number one rusher at 188 yards per game and the number one scorer at 13.9 points per game.

As the nations best running back, how come Kevin Smith didn't win the Doak Walker award which supposed to be awarded to the top running back in the nation. Awards in College Football are like a popularity contest and who's who in the good ole boy club.

The Heisman trophy is supposed to go to the most outstanding player in college football, not the most outstanding player on a popular team. Vote Kevin Smith for Heisman.
