Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows System Users

Most of the people I have seen are fond of using mouse for various functions.Yes, we don't want to be typist or key board experts but there are some really good keyboard shortcuts which one should know to carry out certain functions which might be difficult otherwise. And you never know one fine day, your mouse may just stop working for what ever reason (call it Murphy's Law), and then you may realize the importance of keyboard.

Some very less known cool commands which I think is a must know for all PC users.

Key Combinations Action

F1: Display help, F2: Rename selected item, F3: Search for a file or folder, F5: Refresh the active window, ALT+Enter View properties of the selected item, ALT+F4: Close the active window, ALT+TAB: Switch between open items, ALT+Underlined Letter: In the program menu you can see an underlined letter in front of the command. The combination of letter with alt is the keyboard shortcut for the command. SHIFT+DELETE: Delete selected item permanently without placing the item in the Recycle Bin, CTRL+ESC :Display the Start Menu. SHIFT: while inserting the CD Prevent CD from auto run ROM in CD Drive.

Natural Key

Some very cool functions are associated with Natural Key (Windows Logo Key). Just see the functions associated with this key combination. +D: Display Desktop, +M: Minimize all windows, +SHIFT+M: Restore all minimizes windows, +E: Open "My Computer", +F: Search for a file or folder +F1: Windows Help, +R: Open "Run" dialog box.

Just try these shortcuts and you will realize it fastens your job and gives an appearance of an expert. They are really good utilities in some circumstances. Like..... wanna hide all windows at once if some one barges in????? You know now what to do.....Natutral Key+M. Yes.... That's right!!!
