KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort and Spa in Gurnee, Illinois Review

Indoor Waterpark Resort and Spa Outside Chicago

Loki Morgan
KeyLime Cove Resort and Indoor Waterpark is located outside Chicago in Gurnee, Illinois. Within a few miles of KeyLime Cove you will find Six Flags Great America and Gurnee Mills Outlet Mall. KeyLime Cove's indoor waterpark is a fun family activity especially when the weather in Chicago is crummy. KeyLime Cove is located at 1700 Nations Drive, Gurnee, IL 60031. The phone number is (877) 360-0403.

This Mother's Day we spent a night at KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort and Spa. Included in the Mother's Day Package was a one night stay which grants you access to the indoor waterpark, a fifty dollar credit to the spa, and a special Mother's Day brunch. In addition to the indoor waterpark, KeyLime Cove has many restaurants, an arcade, several tropical themed shops, an activity center for children, and the paradise spa.

KeyLime Cove Rooms

The first room we checked into was very dirty. Red stains plagued the carpet and there was a suspicious stain on the bedding. The air vent looked like the floor of an elementary school after lunch. We were moved to a different room within fifteen minutes of talking to the housekeeping staff. Our second room was much cleaner. We could not avoid the red stains which are found throughout the resort.

KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark

KeyLime Cove's indoor waterpark is bright, clean, and contains areas for adults and children of all ages. My son stayed in the baby pool which goes from zero to two feet. It has three slides of differing difficulty level and several fountains. A bright park with several slides is available for older children. Adults and children can relax in the wave pool or take a ride in the lazy river. There is also a water basketball area. KeyLime Cove's signature is the large tube slides that can be seen from the highway. Towels and life vests are provided. You can buy booze and snacks from shops within the waterpark area.

KeyLime Cove Children's Activities

KeyLime Cove has several activity areas for children of all ages. The small children can play in the free play area or make their own stuffed animal for around seventeen dollars, outfits costing extra. Older children can play in the arcade.

KeyLime Cove's Paradise Spa

The best part of my KeyLime Cove trip was my visit to the paradise spa. The paradise spa performs many services including body scrubs, massages, manicure and pedicures, as well as facials. I chose the facial and it was a wonderful mixture of massage and skin pampering. The paradise spa was clean and relaxing.

Overall Scorecard

KeyLime Cove is a great place to take your family. Do not expect 5 star resort rooms but the indoor waterpark is very nice and clean.

Very informative and helpful review. The waterpark sounds fun, spa sounds oh so relaxing, but the rooms sound like they need some work.

I have been wanting to go to KeyLime Cove, thank you for the thorough review! The first room sounded like it was nasty but it is good to hear the second room was better. You have peaked my interest, I will have to stay there soon!

I'm a germ-a-phobe, so those red stains.....I don't think I'd be able to get past them.
