Khloe Kardashian Getting Married to Lamar Odom of NBA's LA Lakers

These days "Keeping up with the Kardashians" can be quite a chore when trying to keep up with Kim's breakups, Kourtney's pregnancy, and now the most recent news that Khloe Khardashian will soon be getting married. The reality star Khloe Khardashian is getting married to Lamar Odom, current star forward for the Los Angeles Lakers. Khloe is best known for appearing on the E! television reality series "Keeping up with the Kardashians", "Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami", and also for her recent appearance on Donald Trump's NBC series "The Celebrity Apprentice". Lamar Odom is best known for being a talented, versatile forward who just recently won his first NBA Championship with the 2008-09 Los Angeles Lakers. Back in July he signed a new four-year contract extension with the Lakers worth a reported $33 million. And now he's adding another ring to his NBA championship gold; a wedding ring.

The news that Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are getting married has been quite a surprise to many who weren't even aware the two were an item. According to various sources, Lamar and Khloe met at a party in Los Angeles, they dated for just over one month, the couple became smitten, and soon got engaged. A US Weekly source reported that the wedding is being put together so quickly due to Lamar's time constraints with basketball training and the upcoming NBA season. It's been tentatively scheduled to take place on Sunday September 27, 2009 somewhere in Los Angeles.

People.com just recently got word from celebrity Kim Kardashian, the most famous of the three sisters, that Odom and Khloe have been virtually inseparable, and that Lamar keeps her sister smiling and laughing all the time. Kim had been keeping her lips sealed previously, around the time when Lamar Odom joined the rest of the Keeping up with the Kardashian crew for the big Mayweather-Marquez boxing match out in Las Vegas last weekend.

As for the stats, Lamar Odom is 29, Khloe Kardashian is 25. Odom clearly has the height advantage, while the weight difference is unknown. Both Odom and Khloe are unmarried as of this wedding announcement. Odom has two children from a former longtime girlfriend, Liza Morales. Khloe has zero children, and was previously dating another NBA player, Rashad McCants from the Minnesota Timberwolves. As many know, Kim Kardashian had a well known relationship going with NFL star, Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints which ended this past year. Kim has also instituted a "no more athletes rule", saying she's sworn off sporty guys, according to a recent Las Vegas Sun article. After Odom has just signed his new Lakers deal, this sort of marriage could provide quite profitable for Khloe in the future, if things don't work out. Then again, the Kardashians already have plenty of money to themselves. And besides it's always about the love, not the money with these weddings, right?
