Khomeini Perfects the John Belushi Eyebrow Raise

(Tehran, Iran) Supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini demonstrated at a political gathering of Muslim clerics that he has indeed perfected the single eyebrow raise.

The raise, known frequently as the "John Belushi eyebrow raise" involves raising one eyebrow whilst keeping the other stationary. The talent is a renowned party trick and can give an unbridled expression of whimsical curiosity. The eyebrow raise was showcased in John Landis' popular 1978 college comedy Animal House, which featured Belushi in a prominent role.

Khomeini allegedly performed a spot-on eyebrow raise when speaking to a number of key figures in the Iranian government. Prime Minister Mehdi Bazargan responded with this statement, "I did not know the Ayatollah had it in him! That was a perfect imitation of the Animal House film!" The raise was followed by applause and praise for the Ayatollah amongst the group, before the irritated Khomeini silenced them.

"It is bullshit that they say I am imitating an American infidel! To speak such nonsense is blasphemy! The raise will be known as the Khomeini sunrise, and that is final!" Khomeini responded with visible consternation before sweeping out of the room.

News of the historical moment in Islam has leaked to the populace, and jubilant throngs have hoisted portraits of the Ayatollah's eyebrow raise in favor of the supreme leader of the Iranian state. Hassan Bakhtiar, a student in Tehran stated "the Ayatollah be praised! Let the infidel Carter try to raise such a heavenly eyebrow!"
