Kick-Start New Year 2010!

5 Tips to Send You Over the Edge

Well, it is December 31, 2009. Many are heaving a sigh of relief that the holidays are over, the year is over, and all the relatives are off in their own homes. Auld Lang Syn!

Now, we have a New Year to begin, and a clean slate to write on. How about we finish with the old and start with the new?

Take it from me, it is easier to begin anew once the old is laid to rest so here are a few tips to kick-start your new year.

1) Write down 5 highlights of your year. Television runs rampant with this type of 'looking back' stuff every year. It's your turn. And, keep it positive-never apologize, no excuses, no explanations- Julia Childs ( or Meryl Streep, whatever flips your boat!)

2) Find one closet to clean out. Pretend this is you getting rid of the old and bringing in the new. If you only have one closet this will be an easy exercise. If you have more than one, then whatever closet you choose will say something about your psyche. If you believe the aforementioned statement you should clean all the closets and find a productive hobby for the New Year!

3) Determine to practice one 'green' activity next year, even if it's just finding out more about what it means to go green.

4) Find one thing you know you will never do well, and begin doing it. Life is not all about perfection, it's helpful to do some things just for fun! Have at it!

And

5) Make this your New Year's Resolution. STAY in YOUR DAY! It's not as easy as it sounds, but is built on a basic foundation and if you make other resolutions that you will probably break staying in your day is one you can keep starting over each morning.

Happy New Year 2010!
