Another kid friendly garden idea is to create your own garden stones. Garden crafts are a great way to decorate your garden and have fun at the same time. You can find various sizes and shapes of stepping stones at local department stores. You can paint the stones, add small ornaments, glue jewels, beads and other accessories to your stones.
If you want to get more creative you can make your own stones. Using metal or tin pie pans you can create molds. Poor in premade concrete, molding clay or pottery clay and allow to dry. Once dried, you can begin your designs. Another advantage to using stones that you have made at home is that you can create custom designed stones. While your cement is still damp, use cookies cutters, shapes, handprints or draw in your stone to give it a personal touch.
You can always use this as a rainy day project as well. Create the garden stones when the weather doesn't permit you to go outside and then place them outside in the garden on the next beautiful, sun shiny day!
