Kid Friendly Hotels in Boston

Boston has lots of fun activities for kids, but with so many hotels being geared towards business and collegiate travelers, finding a family friendly hotel with activities for kids requires some planning. Here are some hotels that have something special or fun in store for kids.

Homestead Studio Suites, which are part of the Extended Stay Hotels, have free breakfast and a manager's reception on weekdays for a light dinner. You get a suite that is the size of a large studio apartment with a television, sleeping area and kitchen area. They are more geared towards the business traveler so there are limited onsite activities for kids, but children are welcome and two meals a day are free.

At the Holiday Inn at Beacon Hill in Boston, kids eat free and there is an outdoor pool. There is also In Room Video Games Available, Video Review / Checkout and some connecting standard rooms are available. The views are amazing from this hotel and you are right in the center of many kid friendly attractions including Quincy Market, Freedom Trail, Museum of Science, and the New England Aquarium.

Homewood Suites has two locations in the Boston area, Cambridge/Arlington (4 miles from Boston center) and Homewood Suites in Boston/Peabody both of which have several kid friendly perks including breakfast, games, movies, and pool. The Ritz has several children's programs available and on select dates they have Children's Etiquette Classes for lessons for dining and tea. This "Day of Social Savvy" is run by an etiquette expert to help children develop their social and personal skills in introductions, table manners, cell phone etiquette, how to write thank you notes, dancing as well as hot chocolate, muffins, preparing pastries with the hotel's chef, and includes an evening ballroom and modern dance step dance. These lessons are expensive but make the activities at the Ritz much more fun for children and much more relaxing for the adults who travel with them. There are also several family packages available including 30 minute Helicopter rides over Boston and a Museum of Science Package.
