Kid Friendly Hotels in Poughkeepsie

NOM
Poughkeepsie is near some family friendly sites and in the middle of the Hudson Valley, but some Inns do not allow guests under 18, so advance plans for traveling with children are sometimes needed.

Holiday Inn often comes to mind when thinking of kid friendly hotels because of their kids under 12 eat free with an adult policy. There is not a traditional Holiday Inn directly in Poughkeepsie, but a Holiday Inn Express is in Poughkeepsie which has free breakfast for the entire family. Holiday Inn Express is more geared toward the business traveler, but kids still eat free here. The lobby and hotel were recently updated and give the feel of a much more expense hotel.

The Poughkeepsie Courtyard by Marriott has a pool and full buffet breakfast with waffles and omelets and many choices for even picky kids on the buffet breakfast. The entire hotel is smoke-free for those concerned for children being exposed to second hand smoke. Rooms with a King Size bed have a pull out sofa for little ones, or a suite is available for a reasonable fee with a separate bedroom and living room area with pull out couch. These rooms also have a refrigerator to keep snacks and drinks in order to cut down on your trips to the vending machine for soda and juice at $1.50 a bottle. A few adjoining rooms are available upon request. They are located right neat the Coyote Grill that has a popular kids menu.

The Poughkeepsie HomeStead Suites is three miles from SplashDown Beach Water Park as well as Fun Central that has miniature golf, bumper boats, and batting cages. At HomeStead suites you can get a suite for under a $100 a night for a family of four. Full kitchen amenities keep costs down.

The Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie has a heated indoor pool and spa, a sports Court, and a billiards room. They have a free hot breakfast buffet, year round barbeques, and free complimentary Internet access. Residence Inn is ideal for if you are traveling with teens because for a very reasonable price you can get a two bedroom suite and have a pull out couch in the living room area, a full kitchen and dining area. This is a nice savings if you are traveling with several children or older children because it still affords everyone some privacy for less than $200 a night for the whole family. Pets are also welcome. Residence Inn participates in the Bonus Bucks programs, which can save you extra money. Visit the Marriott website to see any current deals of interest, including the free golf round packages.

Another Poughkeepsie hotel option is Days Inn on Haight Street which has rates at about $90 a night. Rooms are simple and clean with less perks than some more modern hotels, but there is a free breakfast, a pool, and free internet access. There are microwaves, refrigerators and coffeemakers to keep your food costs down. There is also an Italian restaurant onsite.
