The first track on the album, which s also the title track, "Rock N Roll Jesus" is kind of bluesy. It has gospel singers in background and they do a lot of harmonizing. Kid Rock is making a statement that he's the rock n roll leader is this song, something that will sure to get some people's feathers riled up. The next song is "Amen". It is more country influenced and is about being thankful. "All Summer Long" has the music from Lynard Skyanrd's "Sweet h Home Alabama" in the background. This some is about reminiscing of good summer fun and smoking funny things, as Kid Rock puts it. It's a fun and catchy song. "Roll On" is the second single released from "Rock N Roll Jesus." It's about moving through life and taking the step forward. "So Hott" is about being with a hot girl and hooking up with her because of how hot she is. The next track on the CD, "Sugar," is another song about sex. This song is harder than other songs on the album. It also reminds me of past songs from Kid Rock. He sings some of the same things other old songs say "cowboy" and other phrases he is known for. "When U Love Someone" is slow and country influenced. The song "New Orleans" is more upbeat. He sings like he has a southern accent. This song has some jazz influence in it as well. "Don't Tell Me U Love Me" has some more rocking in parts to it than other songs on the album. It's about how he found a girl to help him out in life. The song "Blue Jeans and a Rosary" is slow. It tells the life story of hard knocks and hard breaks. "Half Your Age" is a slam against his ex-wife Pam Anderson. It's country all the way and very funny. People will definitely get a kick out of this song, The Bonus track "Lowlife (Living the High Life)" is also sure to be a song will people will love the lyrics as well.
Overall, I would give the "Rock N Roll Jesus" album 4 out of 5 stars. I don't think it's my favorite abum of Kid Rock's, but then again, I've only heard it a few times and it still has time to grow on me.
