An Amber Alert was canceled Wednesday morning after 4-year-old Alisa Maier has been found alive and safe wandering around a car wash in Fenton, Missouri. Alisa was found more than 24 hours after she was kidnapped from her front yard in Louisiana, Missouri.

Sources with St. Louis's NewsChannel 5 report the little girl was found around 9:45PM on Gravois Road in old town Fenton which is located about 85 miles from Alisa's home in Louisiana, Missouri.

The person who found Alisa initially called 911 to report a little boy had been abandoned at the car wash. Apparently her hair had been completely cut off in an effort to disguise her.

Police officials said unfortunately the gas station did not have surveillance cameras outside the building, and so far Police said they are working on leads as to who may have abducted Alisa.

Alisa was reunited with her family at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton just after midnight CST.

Police had been working around the clock and visiting every registered sex offender in a 50 mile area prior to Alisa being found. Investigators said they will continue to question all local registered sex offenders to possibly dig up new leads on who may have kidnapped the little girl.

Alisa was kidnapped from her front yard Monday night while playing with her 5-year-old brother. The brother wasn't able to get a very good look at the suspect since everything happened so quickly. He managed to scream for help and the children's mother ran after the car, but was unable to catch up with it.

Alisa's brother and mother reported they had seen the car driving past their house slowly for almost 2 hours before the girl was grabbed.

While the description of the abductor is still vague, police said the best clue they have is the car which was described as an older brown 4 door vehicle with front end damage either to the front hood area or the on the drivers front side. The suspect is described as a white male with dark hair maybe in his late teens or early 20s.

The FBI and Missouri state police are continuing to investigate the crime and are determined to find the person who did this before he strikes again. Police said in cases like this the suspect may have been trying a test run to see how easy it was to kidnap someone and they want to stop him now before someone else is kidnapped and hurt.

Authorities are also questioning members of a carnival that was in town over the weekend, but they say they don't believe the abductor was connected to it.
