Ingredients

one box of baking soda
four cups of cornstarch
two cups of water
two or more liquid bottles of food coloring

measuring cups
an adult who feels like cooking
one creative kid ready for crafts
a stove top
one long-handled spoon
one pan

Prepare!

The first step is to get the right amount of each ingredient.

The baking soda is easy, because it is one box. Open the box and the inner package. Pour out all of the baking soda into the cooking pot. Use your fingers to mush out the any lumpiness. It's fun!

Next, measure out four cups of cornstarch. Mix the cornstarch with the baking soda.

The final step for you until an adult takes over is to add the water.

Blend all the ingredients together.

Let Adults Cook this Recipe

Adults need to cook the ingredients on a low heat until the ingredients thicken up.

When it has cooled slightly, the adult should divide the final product into two or more portions, for coloring. Once the portions are made, mix in the food coloring. Use the amounts given on the box. Or blend one or more colors to make a truly fun color.

Let the dough cool completely. Now kids can make crafts with the baking soda dough.
