Kids Craft: Make a Valentine's Day Picture Frame Out of Valentines
Here's a Fun Kids Craft for Valentine's Day
This is a fun project to do if you have collected Valentine's at school and you would like to do something special with them to enjoy them for the rest of the year. This is also a great project for kids to do as a gift for friends and family members. This is picture frame craft that looks very pretty and it will turn out very nicely. One of the nice things about this project is that it is one that is not very expensive to make, and it can make a nice gift to give.
There are so many types of Valentines, so this project will look different depending on who makes it. There are vintage Valentines, there are modern cartoon style Valentines. You can make this picture frame with this Valentine with a variety of Valentine's and that will look very nice. The great thing about this frame is that it will look very unique with all of the different Valentines. No frame will look like any other, especially if you are making more than one. So this is a great project to do with kids.
For this project you will need:
a wide rimmed picture frame, ideally a wooden picture frame
Valentines
a foam brush
decoupage glue, one type of glue I have used is called Modge Podge
Begin this project by laying out newspapers to protect the surface. Once this is done, encourage your child to look at their Valentines and to decide where on the picture frame they would like to have the Valentines appear. You or the child may need to trim some of the Valentines with scissors in order to make them all fit on the picture frame.
Put a layer of glue on the frame and start putting Valentines on the frame. I think this project looks best when you put postage stamps all over the frame, and sometimes the Valentines are even overlapping each other just a little bit. Once Valentines cover the frame, put another layer of glue on the frame to seal the picture frame.
Let the picture frame dry for several hours. This project should not take very long to dry. Once it is dry, put your favorite photo in the frame (ideally of your child, or of the family) and it is ready for gift giving!
