Kids Crafts: Desk Tidy

Kids crafts 2:

Keep your kids busy and help keep their room tidy by getting them to make a desk tidy, these can be made using really simple everyday items that you would probably otherwise throw away! You can use things like tubes from crisps or sweets, but the cardboard things from the middle of toilet rolls or kitchen rolls work just as well.

You/they will need:

Kitchen roll cardboard inserts (or toilet roll inserts)

A piece of cardboard for the bottom (you can use cardboard from anything such as cereal boxes, it doesn't matter, as long as it's flat.

Scissors

PVA or water based glue

Poster paints or coloured pens.

Step 1: Remove any remaining lids from the tubes and let the kids paint the outsides of the tubes in whichever colours they want. Let the paint dry.

Step 2: Use a compass (you may need to do this, it depends on how old the kids are) to create the base of the tidy. Have them cut it out and paint it. You can do this whilst the other paint on the tubes is drying

Step 3: Smear some glue on the bottom and inside of the tubes and stick them to the base, you may need to hold them for a moment. Allow to dry.
