This simple and easy light craft makes a perfect accent lamp for a child's bedroom and really adds a ton of style!
To Make This Easy Lamp Craft You Will Need:
Rope Lighting
Coffee Cans or Metal Tubing
Plywood Plaque or Square
Epoxy Glue
Paint
Rocks
To get started you will need 3 to 5 coffee cans. You can use all the same size coffee cans or have a wacky looking lamp by using one large and then smaller cans.
Now, the first step is to take the coffee cans outside. You will want to fill them with rocks or sand. This will add weight and stability to the lamp. Fill the base can first and fill it ½ the way. This is the only can that should be filled with sand this far.
Now, put the plastic lid back on it. Take the rest of the can and fill them about ¼ full of rocks or sand.
Decided while order the coffee cans will be stacked in. Set the first one down. Take the second can and run a thick bead of epoxy glue on the bottom ring. Set into place on the bottom can. Count this process making your tower.
Now, once the epoxy glue has dried on this easy light crafts for kids you will want to paint the whole tower out in a fun color.
Spray paint is your best option here, but you can prime the cans and paint them in any manner you wish.
Once the paint dries you want to bring the whole tower inside. You are about to add the lights.
Tip: Always pick up by holding the base can form this point on. This way you do not break the tower apart.
Make a string of rope Christmas lights, the kind that are light is a plastic tube to add the light. You can use traditional string so Christmas lights if that is what you have, but the tube of lights look great for this.
Start at the base of the bottom can. Place the end of the tube with the plug down here. This can be epoxy this to the side of the can. You will need to hold in place with tape while this is drying. Cement glue or gorilla glue will work as well.
Once this glue sets up you can start to wrap the case in the light working to the top. Adhere the top end in place lie the other. Plug in and enjoy!
