Kids TV Shows: Danny Phantom

Danny Phantom is an animated television series that plays on Nickelodeon. Each episode is 22 minutes along, filling a 30 minute block once commercials are thrown in. The show first aired on Nickelodeon on April 3, 2004 and continues to air today. In total, 40 different episodes have aired while 13 more are currently being produced.

The show was created by Butch Hartman who is also the creator of The Fairly OddParents, another show on Nickelodeon. Some of the actors and actresses that can be heard as voice of characters on the show include David Kaufman, Rob Paulsen, Kath Soucie, Ron Perlman, and Martin Mull.

Although the show has been fairly popular on Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon announced in January of 2006 that they would not purchase any more episodes. The episodes currently in production will air for the rest of 2006 and early into 2007. After February of 2007, no new episodes of Danny Phantom will air on Nickelodeon.

The main characters of the show Danny Phantom are:

Danny Phantom - Danny Phantom is a 14-year old boy who has super ghost powers. He received the powers after an accident occurred in a lab. Danny helps solve the town's ghost problem by fighting against them with his powers.
Tucker Foley - Tucker Foley is one of Danny Phantom's best friends. He would be considered a science nerd who is constantly playing with science toys. He is also one of Danny's main helpers in fixing the ghost problem.

Sam Manson - Sam Manson is Danny Phantom's other best friend. She is also aware of Danny's powers. Sam and Danny have feelings for each other, but they never admit it on the show.

Jazz Fenton - Jazz Fenton is Danny Phantom's older sister. She is always trying to help Danny out, but she usually helps out too much. Danny never tells her about his powers, but she eventually finds out for herself.

Jack and Maddie Fenton - Jack and Maddie Fenton are Danny Phantom's parents. They are professional ghost hunters, yet
neither parent knows of Danny's powers.

Valerie Gray - Valerie Gray claims that her life was ruined by Danny Phantom. She vows to get him back and constantly tries to do just that with different robotic equipment.

Vlad Plasmius - Vlad Plasmius is an old friend of Jack and Maddie Fenton. He used to hunt ghosts with them until he became part ghost. He is mad at Jack for marrying Maddie and uses his powers for evil.
