Kill a Queer for Jesus
The Disturbing Connection Between Your Tithes and Tax Dollars, and Uganda's Human Rights Horrors
I am deeply disturbed by what I have learned tonight. While watching Rachael Maddow (as I am prone to do) I learned that Uganda is considering legislature to make Homosexuality a capital crime in that African Nation. Persons engaging in homosexual activity will be subject to arrest, imprisonment, and if it is "Aggravated homosexuality" death by hanging. Aggravated homosexuality includes some obvious things like child abuse and rape, but also encompasses "Serial Offenders." Two strikes, and you are out. It also currently contains language to permit the forcible extradition of Ugandans who commit homosexual acts in other countries back to Uganda for trial.
Here is a copy of the proposed legislation.
The Anti-Homosexuality Bill's section on Aggravated homosexuality
A person commits the offence of aggravated homosexuality where the
(a) Person against whom the offence is committed is below the age of 18 years;
(b) Offender is a person living with HIV;
(c) Offender is a parent or guardian of the person against whom the offence is committed;
(d) Offender is a person in authority over the person against whom the offence is committed;
(e) Victim of the offence is a person with a disability;
(f) Offender is a serial offender; or
(g) Offender applies, administers or cause to be used by any man or woman any drug, matter or thing with intent to stupefy or overpower him or her so as to thereby enable any person to have unlawful carnal connection with any person of the same sex.
A person who commits the offence of aggravated homosexuality shall be liable on conviction to suffer death.
Where a person is charged with the offence under this section, that person shall undergo a medical examination to ascertain his or her HIV status.

Further, it will be a crime to NOT report a suspected homosexual; a crime punishable by up to three years in prison.
But what is even more disturbing are the ties of the proponents of the legislation; President Yoweri Museveni, Uganda's Ethics and Integrity Minister James Nsaba Buturo, Ndorwa's Minister of Parliament, David Bahati, and Minister Martin Ssempa. David Bahati, author of the bill, is a member of The Family; the ultra conservative evangelical organization that hosts such members as: John Ensign Sen. (R-NV) Involved in sex scandal, Tom Coburn Sen. (R-OK) Acted as go between for Sen.Ensign and his mistress and her family, Joe Pitts Rep. (R-PA) Chair of House Values Action Team; Member Committees on Energy & Commerce, Sec. & Coop in Europe, Frank Wolf Rep. (R-VA) Member of House Appropriations Panel, Bart Stupak Rep. (D-MI) Author of the Stupak-Pitts Amendment for the Affordable Health Care for America Act that would ban federal funding for abortions, and Mark Sanford Gov. (R-SC) Involved in sex scandal. The Family is the same group that hosts many Congressmen in low rent Washington D.C. quarters at the now infamous "C Street."
Further, Minister Martin Ssempa has close personal ties with Pastor Rick Warren (Saddleback Church, CA. Gave the Inaugural Invocation, much to the dismay of Obama's Gay Supporters) and has spoken at his church. And while Rick Warren has distanced himself from Ssempa, he has refused to condemn the measure. His stance on abortion is clear cut, calls it a holocaust, and crosses international boundaries in his call to "do the right thing." Yet, here, he will not even state that he thinks passing legislation to kill homosexuals might be a bad thing.
The Family and other Evangelical organizations have been very active in Uganda. Several members of the Ugandan Parliament are Family Members. And yet, they can contemplate passing this horrible law, in clear violation of every standard of Human Rights that the International Community has established.
"Both opponents and supporters agree that the impetus for the bill came in March during a seminar in Kampala to "expose the truth behind homosexuality and the homosexual agenda".
The main speakers were three US evangelists: Scott Lively, Don Schmierer and Caleb Lee Brundidge. Lively is a noted anti-gay activist and president of Defend the Family International, a conservative Christian association, while Schmierer is an author who works with "homosexual recovery groups". Brundidge is a "sexual reorientation coach" at the International Healing Foundation."
What is this world coming to when the money that you put in collection plate ends up supporting witch-hunts ending in the hanging of people for an accident of birth? And United States Elected Officials travel on our tax dollars to participate in "Prayer Meetings" with men planning genocide?
Gay Rights have suffered enough in this country with the reversals of Gay Marriage laws in California and Maine. But that isn't enough for some of these groups; now they are funding the state sanctioned slaughter of Homosexuals in other countries. This is something every American needs to know, and be appalled about. It is made even more tragic considering the apostate heresies used to justify these atrocities with the Bible. The Bible simply does not say what most people think it does about homosexuality, and certainly does not condone pogroms and mass murder.
(For what the Bible DOES say, see my review of What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality)
I certainly know that Mark Pryor's chance of getting my vote in the primary election will depend largely on his public statement on the matter, and his getting out of The Family.

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out-because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out-because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me-and there was no one left to speak out for me.-Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892-1984)

Post a CommentOne, you are far more likely to get AIDS through heterosexual sex; The Gay community has fought the plague with education and condoms. Second, any woman who would go home with you has a host of problems, and is opening herself to more.
They're probably just trying to contain the spread of AIDs. I don't blame them. If queers didn't have anal sex in public bathrooms AIDs wouldn't have spread the way it did and I wouldn't be afraid to take a girl I don't know home with me.
