Some animals are not to be domestic and should be admired from afar.

In Orlando Florida, a killer whale attacked and killed a trainer in front of a horrified audience Wednesday at Sea World with at least one witness saying the animal leaped from the water, dragged her under and thrashed her violently.

Sea World spokesman Fred Jacobs verified that the whale did kill 40 years old trainer Dawn Brancheau and the whale identified is Tilikum.

Back in July 1999 a man's body was also found draped over Tilikum Sea World. When this occurred the man had made his way past security at Sea World and either jumped or fail into Tilikum's tank.

After witnessing the death of 16 year trainer Dawn Brancheau, one of Sea World's leading trainers, a distraught and shaken audience was hustled out the stadium, and park was immediately closed. Tilikum is considered the largest Orca in captivity weighing in at nearly 12,000 pounds.

Killer whales are easily recognized due to their striking black and white coloration, and a sleek streamlined, fusiform body shape. The correct name for this marine animal is "Orca." Wild killer whales according to Wikipedia.com, "are not considered a threat to humans, although cases of captive killer whales attacking their handlers."
