A recent tragedy in the news came to an end this week as James Kim's body was found. The 35 year old died of Hypothermia after nearly 2 weeks of being stranded in Oregon's Mountainous Wilderness.

James and his wife Kati, along with their two small children had visited family in Oregon over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Their journey back to San Francisco ended in Tragedy.

The family had gotten somehow sidetracked onto one of Oregon's Mountainous roads. Unfortunately, the blizzard kept the family from making forward movement and they ended up being stranded. For the next several days the snow and ice continued to pile upon the car. The Kim's kept warm using every survival strategy they could think of.

The family ended up burning all four of the vehicles tires after they had ran out of gas. While the tire burning was intended to both attract attention and provide warmth, neither proved successful in the long term.

Kati Kim was able to provide nourishment for both of the Kim daughters via breast milk. The family also ate berries for several days, however, eventually James and Kati found it necessary for James to set out on foot.

James journeyed approximately 10 miles on foot before collapsing in a ravine.

The recent autopsy report from local Oregon authorities proved that his death was the result of hypothermia.

James had also done an excellent job of leading authorities and the rescue team to finding his family.

He had left several articles on the trail including shirts, socks, and bits and pieces of an Oregon map.

Kati Kim and the daughters had also been forced to venture out on foot after several days. They were soon found by authorities after Kati had raised her umbrella up and down. The helicopter recognized the three and they were rescued shortly thereafter.

Care packages had also been dropped via helicopter in an attempt to sustain the Kim's while the search team continued. The family did not find any of the care packages. James had left his family after building a fire for them and putting on a pair of sweatpants over regular street clothes. His body was found within approximately 1 mile of the vehicle.

Kati Kim had also left a note for rescuers indicating the direction they had chosen to head on foot.

Authorities reported that the conditions in which James had set on foot were amazing. His journey may have ended in tragedy; however, he will always be considered a hero as he saved his family's life.

The Josephine County Undersheriff also noted that Kim's attempt was "superhuman".

The three Kim females spent one night in the hospital and were released.

James' footprints were what led the authorities to the vehicle. He had been very strategic in his conquest.

James Kim was a senior editor at CNET Networks.

The real life tragedy is rare and has caused much grief to citizens of Oregon as well as the Kim's family and friends.

Also, the Oregon Trail can be quite deceiving and treacherous to those who are unfamiliar with it. The road on which the Kim's had chosen to travel is typically closed in the winter. While the terrain is stunningly beautiful, it is also quite dangerous. The Bear Camp Road parallels the Rogue River and is steep and narrow.

The Kim's had been tracked via their cell phone. They were unable to use the phones due to the area they were stranded in, however the phones helped to narrow the search.

Kati, Penelope, and Sabine Kim were rescued 9 days after being stranded. After one day in the hospital, Kati left to help continue the search, hoping her husband would be alive. The Kim's own two stores in San Francisco; including clothing store and a baby goods and organic skin care store. James will also be greatly missed by the Cnet Company for which he worked as an editor.
