Kim Kardashian Pregnant Rumor Quickly Dismissed

A Kim Kardashian pregnant rumor was quickly put to rest on the same day it apparently started. What happened? OK Magazine posted the cover of their upcoming magazine on their website. The cover shows Kim with the words, "I'm having a baby!" Almost instantly, rumors began floating that Kim was sporting a baby bump. But it seems the rumor has been quickly dismissed by Kim herself.

It would seem the OK cover would indicate that the social media diva is pregnant. But it's not true according to Kim. In fact, Kim quickly responded to the "I'm Having a Baby" cover on her own blog that she isn't pregnant-but she is looking forward to one day having a baby. Big difference, right?

In this day and age of trying to sell magazines, OK tossed out a cover that could be called quite deceptive. The tease only allowed for some information concerning the potential baby in the works. It left everything open ended and the possibility that Kardashian might indeed currently be pregnant. Kim responded quickly and put the rumors to rest.

"This is crazy!," Kim said on her blog. "I am NOT pregnant! Magazines can be so tricky with their wording!" Enough said I guess about a possible pregnant Kim Kardashian. Will OK Magazine take some heat for putting out such a steamy headline? What does that do to the trust and future validity of stories and headlines put forth by that magazine? Is it bordering on tabloid? It will be interesting to see what the reaction of those who read the magazine actually is. For those who view the website, it's apparent the headline could be very deceiving. But many magazines toss out teasers to sell issues and subscriptions and bring people to their website.

In this particular instance, OK Magazine probably did drive many to their website to see the upcoming cover. But was it worth the potential loss of credibility by slamming a quote that wasn't completely accurate? Only time will tell if there is any backlash from the new cover. Chances are the buzz about this story will sell a few more magazines this week-especially when fans of Kim are at the grocery store and see the headline. It wouldn't be the first example of a magazine tossing out a tease that turned out to be misinformation.

But it looks as if Kardashian is open to the idea of having a baby soon. Maybe the headline could have just read "I want to have babies" with her new beau Kris Humphries. That certainly wouldn't have been as striking-but it would have been more accurate and realistic. Anytime a person involved in a piece of journalism has to clarify something via her own blog it's probably not a good thing. The good news is that in this day and age people have the reasonable ability to do just that via Twitter and personal blogs in a shorter time frame.

Kardashian could have let it simmer a few days but she responded very quickly. Perhaps that means she was bombarded with emails, questions and phone calls of congratulations thanks to the OK story. That has to be a bit frustrating-especially when you grant an interview to a writer/reporter.
