Kimbo Slice Vs. Houston Alexander: The Ultimate Fighter Season 10 Finale

Gerard Fillion
This Saturday (December 5, 2009) saw the crowning of another Ultimate Fighter. Roy "Big Country" Nelson won this season of the Ultimate Fighter. He will get the six figure contract and all that. However the fight that everyone was waiting for was not the main event of the evening. It could have been from all the hype that was laid on it.

At the beginning, it was words. UFC president Dana White challenged Kimbo, that if he ever wanted to fight in the UFC, he had to go through the show (The Ultimate Fighter) Kimbo, stepped up. During the show, everyone knew who Kimbo Slice was; I think people got to know Kevin Ferguson, the man behind Kimbo Slice. During the show America fall for Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson, the man and the fighter. Even though he lost right off the bat, the fact that constantly was a sponge observing everything. After the show, I think everyone knew the Kimbo was going to fight in the UFC, at least for the finale.

The UFC picked in everyone's minds a good first fight for Slice. Houston Alexander is known as a stand up brawler. Going into the fight I think everyone thought this fight was going to be over in about a minute. Who ever won, it would be over fast. At the end of the fight there was both excitement and disappointment. Alexander did a lot of circling. So much circling I almost got dizzy. Kimbo, instead of what everyone thought, was pretty patient and methodical. There were a few times were I thought Kimbo was going to start throwing blows and he didn't.

He did however take Alexander down and control the fight. In the end three things happened. 1. Kimbo won for the first time in the UFC, by discussion and clearly with no doubt. 2. is on his way to being a MMA fighter. He also 3. Is here to stay for a while. I think we have not seen the last of Kimbo, not by a long shot. Good job Kimbo, good job.
